Performance Strategy
Character-driven creatives performed the strongest in the previous ad set, so this refresh features 5 character-focused concepts, using angles or executions not in the previous ad set. There are also 3 creator-focused concepts because we acquired some real images from the author to use, and his stepfather story is a hook no other ad in the account carries. A proof-driven concept gets one carousel built on reader reviews because the old Darkblade quote carousel drew the highest CTR the book has had (3.97%). A story-driven concept gets one image. There is no offer-driven concept since in the last set it ran at 1.03 ROAS and this edition’s offer is only 10% off.
Audience: Adult readers of dark and grimdark fantasy who like assassins, anti-heroes, and revenge plots. Andy's Queen of Thieves buyers are the warmest pool. The Creator blocks also speak to readers who are parents, through Andy's stepfather story.
Key Message: The greatest assassin who ever lived, a killer trying to be better for the innocent, written by an author who put his own life into it and signed by that author.
Tone: Dark and dry when the Hunter speaks, warm and plain when Andy does. No hype, no countdowns, no urgency theatre.
